Rep. Waxman Honored to Participate in Memorial Day Events to Recognize Nation’s Service Members

WASHINGTON, DC— On Monday, May 27, Rep. Henry A. Waxman will participate in three events on Memorial Day, joining local veterans and their families to honor the memories of our nation’s fallen soldiers and pay tribute to the service members who carry on their legacy.

“On Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice,” said Rep. Waxman.  “We are reminded of their important legacies so that we can renew our commitment to honor their memories and what they died fighting for.  We must renew our commitment to ensure our nation’s service members, veterans, and their families get every benefit that they have earned.”

Rep. Waxman will attend the Walk for Warriors 5k, hosted by New Directions and the West Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, in honor of those who have served and those currently serving in the Armed Forces.  The event begins at 7:30am at the West LA VA Medical Campus in Los Angeles.

Rep. Waxman will then attend a Memorial Day event at the West LA VA National Cemetery.  The event begins at 10:30am.

At 1:00pm, Rep. Waxman will participate in the Redondo Beach Memorial Day Tribute at Veterans Memorial Park.
