Terror Attacks Against Israelis
Rep. Henry A. Waxman
July 20, 2012

My condolences go out to the Israeli people and the families of those injured and killed in the heinous terror attack against Israeli tourists in Bulgaria.  With indications that the attack was orchestrated by Hezbollah and Iran, it is time for the European Union to take action against the perpetrators of these murders and, once and for all, outlaw Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

The international community must do more to rally together and stand with Israel in the face on terror.  I find it shameful that the International Olympic Committee is refusing to mark the fortieth anniversary of the terror attack against Israeli Olympic athletes in Munich with a moment of silence at the opening ceremonies. I strongly support the efforts of President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu to continue pressing for an appropriate acknowledgement that will raise the spirit of humanity at the game and firmly express world solidarity against terrorism.
