Rep. Waxman Calls For a Repeal of a Provision Intended to Protect Drug Manufacturers

In a letter to Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist and House Speaker Dennis Hastert, Rep. Waxman and colleagues addressed concerns that a stealth provision was added into the Defense Appropriations Act without Congressional debate or public scrutiny. This provision would shield Manufacturers from taking responsibility for making faulty drugs and vaccines without adequately compensating patients affected by these drugs.
