Washington, Sep 14, 2006 - Rep. Waxman, along with his colleagues, wrote a letter to Department of Justice Inspector General Glenn A. Fine again requesting more information about the National Security Agency’s (NSA) warrantless spying program. In response to a December 20, 2005 letter sent by Members of Congress, the Office of the Inspector General stated that the NSA investigation falls outside the jurisdiction of the office and referred the matter to the Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR). This letter again asks the Office of the Inspector General to conduct the investigation because the OPR does not have the security clearance needed to do so.
